When was your last time visiting Laduree on Madison and 70th? Today is 23rd of December and this is my last minute Christmas shopping for my boyfriend’s cousins and I am realizing I might made the wrong decision. This is the line than came across the corner of 70th street, right in front of Juicy Couture store. So far, it has been 25 minutes standing in the line on a 40f day. It’s pretty windy and my hands are freezing from typing my iPhone hahaha. I am doing a fun math of how long do you have to wait in Laduree’s line and here goes… Laduree has 4 employees in the store. Each customer would take at least 6 mins for one purchasing, some people buy a box, some buy many boxes, and some of them will need their boxes ribboned and all that. So 60 mins, one employee could handle max at 10 customers, multiply by ~~4 employees~~ (that day there were 7 employers). Therefore, Laduree could service ~~32-40 guests in an hour~~ (35-70 guests). Now I can presume what my wait time today is approximately 1 hour and 20 mins. I come here all the time, never once have to wait this long. I shall never come back in a while. Note to self: never shop fancy bakery shop during the holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy new year 2012! xx

(edited Jan 17 2011) I end up waited 1.5 hours due to the fact that I didn’t realize there were double of the employees and more people waiting in the store, around 20-30 more people in the zigzag line (of people who tried to squeeze into the store to stay warm)

I’m not a big reader, but I do like to write, not nescessiraly a novel but basically anything that came to my head. I started a list of “30 things to do before I turn thirty” around 4 months ago when i was unemployed and tried to search for a meaning of life. I want the list to be a goal, a commitment for my life so follow. It has to be something totally meaningful and inspiring like life’s changing that kind of thing. Tonight, while I was searching for a friend’s address from my old diary, I found an old list of mine “26 things to do before I turn twenty-six”, which was very fun to read. Some of the tasks, I never really did it but most of them were accomplished.

May be I should push the rest of the list to the 30’s list.

These past few days, New York just reached 30s degree again and it is just so cold. There is nothing better than a hot homemade pork congee with fried shallot and graded fresh ginger. The heat and the spice of ginger will keep you warm. I just tried to make the congee for the first time, I grounded the Japanese rice and Thai jasmine brown rice together with the coffee grinder. So, there might be a hint of a coffee in my congee though :)
